START UP RECOMMENDATIONS
New Plaster and Startup Recommendations
A WATER HOSE WILL BE PLACED IN YOUR POOL FOR FILLING
IF YOU SEE WHAT APPEARS TO BE CRACKS IN THE PLASTER DO NOT TURN THE WATER OFF.
DO NOT STOP THE FILLING until the water reaches the middle of the tile line. If the filling is stopped, a permanent ring will be left on your plaster!! Fill Spa after pool unless otherwise instructed. Additional hoses may be added at least 3 ft of water by placing hose(s) in the deep end, preventing any water from spraying directly on the fresh plaster.
DO NOT add ANY chemicals until your pool is full.
DO NOT turn your pool or spa light(s) on until filled with water
DO NOT install a pool sweep or manual vacuuming for at least 30 days from the date of plaster.
When your pool is full, start brushing (soft white brush) the plaster several times daily. Keeping the water cloudy, will give you a smoother finish. Do this until all the plaster dust has disappeared. Run pool equipment 24 hours each day. This may take several days.
Brush the plaster dust towards the main pool drain and clean your filter as needed.
Start your equipment as soon as the pool is full. If this is a new pool, for the best results, contact your pool company for start-up. If this is a re-plaster, contact your local pool service company for proper start-up procedures. If you don’t have one contact us and we’ll be happy to recommend one!
OK to add SALT after 30 days.
DO NOT turn your heater on for at least 10 days
You can use your pool as soon as it is clear and the water is chemically balanced
